The Blackout's blade is also coated with scratch-resistant Tungsten DLC for a non-reflective surface. The serrated edge also cuts better and more accurately than a flat edge knife. The Kershaw Whirlwind knife also has a contoured handle of injection-molded polyimide, an extremely durable plastic, for a comfortable and stable grip. Stainless-steel liners on the Kershaw knife also adds to the overall handle strength.
