6.5x55 Cal.

Sometimes I feel that we assume that the majority of shooters in America, know little about different cartridges avaialbe to them, with 30-06,270,30-30,223 etc., being the most known and used. The 6.5X55 has been around as long as the 06 and 30-30 and has outstanding ballistic coificent and has been used in Scandinavia on everything from elk to Polar Bear which in this country would be seen as taking one's life in hand. I shoot a Model 96 and also a Swiss K31 in 7.5X55 another excellent cartridge. But we have to remember that few shooters are like us and subsribe to three or more magazines and reflect sometimes for months on buying a rifle, with often it being bought when we finally discide.

Tikka T3 Stainless Steel Synthetic 6.5x55 Swede

Great gun. Using Burris Fullfield II 3x9x40 Scope, I was able to sight 4 rounds in a 1/2" grouping @ 200 yds. It greatly exceeded my expectation. Very little kick, smooth bolt action. I give this gun a 4.75 stars out of 5. The only downfall, ammo is not readily available like .223 or .308.
