The 5 inch Cold Steel blade is wider and ground thin for tremendous shearing and slicing. A sturdy VG-1 stainless-steel is used on the Cold Steel blade. The Cold Steel knife is precision milled and hand fitted with extra stiff springs. This provides a back lock that is safer and stronger that most folding knives. The Cold Steel black Zytel handle has excellent strength and stiffness, and won't expand in the heat or cold. A steel pocket clip is also included for the Cold Steel knife, which won't break or bend and is easier for carrying.
